Funk is a veteran of the Pretoria house music scene with over 6 years behind the turntables and even more on the dance floor. Playing & mixing Afro Deep blends dance rhythms he’s fast becoming known for his technical approach, thoughtful selection and fuel injected sets. “I want to play the joints and sound that hit you where you feel it before you hear it. Tracks that you may know on a personal level that you never expect to hear out and the one’s you do, interpreted in a way you never expect.”

Talking about the latest technology available to DJs, Funk does not limit himself to just one type of technology whether it is CDJs or Turntables. Equipment wise, Funk prefers Technics SL 1200 turntables, Pioneer CDJ 200, 400 or 800S and any Pioneer mixer. Having the latest DJing technology however, does not ensure frequent bookings for events; “If these people don't know your name or have never heard you playing somewhere before, your task is made all the more harder, you just have to keep hustling ,” says Funk.

He recently represented PTA at the 2nd Annual CarFax Miller Gig in newtown; played at Maroola Lounge ; Cofi.Brooklyn; Cofi.Hatfield; Cappello WonderPark; Habbari; House 22; 15th Ave / Mogodung; The Dave; Timothys - Tembisa; Leratos; Da Joint; and many mo places..
